As a father of two young children, Scott will keep making sure our streets, schools, homes, and parks are safe. Crime rates are down 14% the last two years, and Mayor Singer has worked to ensure our police and fire rescue services attract and retain the best talent and have the necessary tools and resources to serve and protect our citizens. Mayor Singer called for police officers to be in all public schools after the Parkland tragedy, and ensured Boca Police would fill in any gaps in coverage. Scott voted for a long-term agreement to ensure officers would continue to have a strong presence at our public schools, the first of its type in the county. He proposed and saw implemented funds in the city budget to better secure our schools and coordinate efforts between police forces. Scott also served on the state’s Sober Homes Task Force, which made meaningful recommendations to change the law and led to reduction in opioid abuse and unscrupulous marketing, helping to protect single-family neighborhoods.
